The difference between exploratory writing and exploratory thinking is the process of each.
The process of exploratory thinking is not usually viewed in steps. When someone takes part in exploratory thinking, they may investigate an issue within their head. They may do research or ask questions, but they are just exploring the topic within themselves. Other people will not be able to sit down and read the research because the person exploring the topic have all of the research within.
Exploratory writing includes a process of asking questions, writing down what you already know, what you want to know, and how you are going to find the answers to your questions. While writing to explore, a person investigates a topic, and then the topic can be viewed by other people. Other people will be able to read and give their opinions on the exploratory writing.
